King James Bible Textbook

This project was an attempt to have the KING JAMES BIBLE of 1611 available to public school children as its own literature textbook. This is because the KJB is the finest work of English prose in existence, & has for 400 years influenced the English speaking peoples more than any other single work. Yet, tragically, public school children are denied the opportunity to read it.
Rather than support this simple, inexpensive, & commendable effort of providing the King James text as its own first hand resource, various organizations have written & published their own “Bible Literature" textbooks. For the price of acquiring just one of these copyrighted, heavy, & glossy books, a school district could have purchased over 10 or more KJBs instead.
The “Bible Literature” textbook fad ignores dealing with the merit of the KJB’s powerful, majestic, moving, & timeless language. In fact, these textbooks often quote modernistic Bible versions that make questionable claims of being “more accurate,” but which are in reality poor imitations of the timeless KJB, which after 400 years of world championship, we can safely assert to be the DEFINITIVE English Bible version for all time.
Instead of allowing children their own opportunity to glean literary themes, the authors of these “Bible Literature” textbooks announce their themes, which often leads to trivializing as mythology the Biblical historical account, & promoting of the textbook authors’ own humanistic bias. This is wholly inappropriate for a book that is considered by many to be sacred scripture.
The King James text itself, without fancy pictures or biased commentary, is all that is needed. The non-devotional study of the text itself does NOT violate the honorable principals of separation of Church & State.
There are many Christians & Jews who despise the KJB because, despite its success & popularity, the text does not support some doctrinal religious issue. This is, of course, a religious matter & the study of the AV in public schools is for non-devotional purposes. Similarly, those that despise Charles Darwin’s works cannot honestly deny the influence which they have had on the world. His books are worth studying for this reason alone, & the first hand evaluation of his writings sheds light on his conclusions, whether one agrees with them or not.
The Authorized Version of the English Bible (which is what the KJB is known as in England) is indeed great literature, yet it is much more than that to the Bible Believer. It is taken as God's very words, the oracles of God: the Holy Scriptures.
The proposed study of the KJB in the California schools was a good proposition, but it did not succeed. The people in control of the educational system are primarily atheists who have a narrow minded & bigoted viewpoint that they seek to force upon the community – therefore they stridently oppose even non-devotional Bible study by students on a purely non-religious basis.
The Bible text is particularly offensive to the prevailing godless dogma because in the Bible text God sovereignly interferes into man’s history on every page. In the Bible God really runs the world, but in secular humanism (the polite term for atheism), it is man who runs the world. Thus the alternate Bible "viewpoint" cannot be “tolerated” by the “broad-minded” educational establishment. This is the real reason why the Bible will never be allowed back into the American public schools.
"Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin: That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt! Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion." Isaiah 30:1-3
